The legacy of Katie Wilkinson
Katie was a dedicated and high achieving ENV student enrolled on the University of East Anglia's Year in North America programme (2002-2006).
Katie died in April 2006 while being treated for Leukaemia and was subsequently awarded a posthumous First Class Honours Degree in Environmental Sciences. The Katie Wilkinson Research Scholarship has been established as a Registered Charity (No 1117991) in memory of Katie, and as a means to reward outstanding student research. The scholarship funds are available for UEA undergraduate students completing their final year projects in the School of Environmental Sciences. The aim of The Katie Wilkinson Scholarship
The mission of The Katie Wilkinson Research Scholarship is to provide any deserving candidate, who has a valuable and original research project, the means to make their research goals a reality.
In line with the ethos of the scholarship, we hope our funds will enable students to have some fun, maybe an adventure, and who knows, perhaps even the experience of a lifetime! Apply directly through UEA ENV
Katie's scholarship is administered by UEA ENV. This website is for background information and context only. Applications are to be submitted to the UEA School of Environmental Sciences directly. Find out how to apply here. |

“I would like to offer my deepest gratitude for The Katie Wilkinson Research Scholarship, as due to the remoteness of the study site, my costs in arriving at the project were substantial and the charities support was invaluable” |
