Liz - known for her love of letter writing - got to work, creating 40 beautifully handwritten cards, one for every year since Katie's birth. The letter had a simple yet powerful request enclosed.
"I have sent this letter to you and 39 of Katie's family and friends, people she loved and who loved her in return.
To mark Katie's 40th Birthday, please can each of you carry out one Random Act of Kindness in Katie's name. You can choose what, but please let it be something that helps someone and puts positivity and hope out into the world.
With 40 acts of kindness generated in Katie's name the world will be a better place. The ripples of kindness will flow, and who knows where they will lead.
Let's continue Katie's legacy, allow her light to shine and her kindness to be felt by the world. Katie made a positive impact in life, as she continues to do so now and forever.
